Hi,
I also invited the Team SETI.USA at their Message Board. The Topic can be found here:http://www.setiusa.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13078.
I tried to describe the Charity-Crunching and the Idea behind. Hopefully some of their Team will join us.
Cheers :hello:
aendgraend
I posted on BOINCstats and copied pretty much everything from aendgraend (since it's a very good post).
Topic is here: http://boincstats.com/forum/forum_thread.php?id=4105 (http://boincstats.com/forum/forum_thread.php?id=4105)
I simply copied Aendgraends post from SETI.USA-Forum and posted it at BOINC Synergy here (http://www.boincsynergy.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=109286#109286)...
I'm with you! +1
:hello:
[:al@on:3] Very good initiative! :jap:
Just read some of the replies in the other forums:
I'm amazed how many people are worried about their own bloody credits for 2 weeks. Not everything is a competition but I suppose if the only thing you care about are your own credits, then the notion of a charity crunch seems odd...
[:sg-digi421]
Glad to see so many people here though, I haven't entirely lost my faith in humanity yet :) .
Hi everyone,
Glad to see you here :)
I also posted on the Planet3D forums: http://www.planet3dnow.de/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=354709
Furthermore we have informed / invited

Hi all, seems I'm the first "representative" on the Board for the Team Nordlichter :)
Looking forward to the race !
I just postedon BS-Board, why it should be an seperate Team for this Event:
Hallo BS.
I wil try to explane, why we came to the Idea to set up an seperate Team for this Event (sorry for my bad English):
In Authum 2008, we were Crunching on different Projekts allways with the eys on Formula Boinc and the Credit-System. So we had the Inspiration, to set up an Charity-Event in Spring 2009.
And Thats it: The Charity-Race with no Team-Credits.
parrallel it is an litle demonstration against Credit-Junkies working with cheating-clients.
so we hope to have an big time with a lot of DC-Fanatics, You are welcome.
Best Regards, Arne
may be this is for others althou importend.
I invited Canal@Boinc (Spain) to join us (mail to their admin)
And Boinc@Australia
OMG!! it smells the first server crash tour 2009 ^^

I copied from Aendgreand and postet to amdusers:

The ´official´ (German) Invitation and Infos about the Benefit Crunching
you may find now in our Forum -> http://board.setigermany.de/showthread.php?t=2743

Yamazaki
could you translate it tout english to post it in the Team information, please ?
ouch, the top10 teams in the charity team ?
we're ready for the crash tour 2009 [:mysti13]
what about planet 3dnow, esl and team2ch ? [:douglas riper]
Just for the records: I took the liberty to post an invitation to the SETI.Germany Café (SETI.Germany Teamforum) on the SETI@home boards. Since most of our members are still (only) crunching for SETI, we might get some additional attention there. This forum is only visible to members of SG who have an account for S@h and are logged into it, so no URL here.
Regards
Alex
I've posted an invitation on the forum of my mini-team (MacGeneration.com) :p
Ehm ... I guess somebody is already preparing a nice invitation to be posted at the POEM@home forum (Team Invites). I'd say this should be done by those whose baby this benefit crunching is, right? :) Just a reminder. Maybe you guys are already preparing something, perhaps together with the project managers of POEM... :D A French/German/English invitation, which is linked to the frontpage, would be cool :D
Alex
I'm gonna post an invitation to team2ch. I will just copy/paste the invitation.
EDIT : Hmmm, first I have to find the forum... :pt1cable:
EDIT2: I have sent some PM to different members. Let's see :ange:
Hmm - As i could read in the forum of planet3dnow; they don't want to take part.
The thirst answer pointed out, that they have theirs "project of the month" and that they do enough for POEM. The next two replys agree and thats it.
Well: They don't wnat, they don't have to... Everyone his one opinion.
Edit: Delete one not really political correct sentence.
Yes, it seems so. Quite a shame IMO as that's the whole point of this Team. To do something TOGETHER rather than every team for themselves.
Posted on the german ESL Forum: http://www.esl.eu/de/forum/1206/8587/566746/
OK, I postet on the Czech National Team Forum to
http://forum.czechnationalteam.cz/viewforum.php?f=2
Gruß Michael
Hope that's really the BOINC team and not the national weight lifting association or something ;)
Unfortunately I don't speak a word of czech :(

The thread has been moved to here (http://forum.czechnationalteam.cz/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=1234).
It seems that there were some language problems, but one of the Czech members translated Michael's post.
My Czech skills are pretty much nonexistent, too...although I live only 20 kilometres away from the German-Czech border. :heink:
I have friends in Germany. In fact they are the 2nd generation of children since my grand-father were prisonner during the WWII.
I used to go every year near Bitburg when I was younger and I used to speak pretty good German... but since I do not see them so much, I have lose all my fluent German :'( I'm very proud of this friendship and I'm still glad to understand "Meine Freundinnen" when I see them :)
It seems one Member of the Czech National Team has a slightly different View of the things. I tried to describe it a bit more at their Message Board and hope some will join us though:

Apparently, You had received an "hostile" private message that show you as a spammer ??
This Charity Crunch has already brought some benefits. We've never had that much contact with other teams before (or at least I never had that much contact before - today alone I registered on about 4 forums). That's the spirit!
Huhuu everybody!
I invited the german Team "Erster Kontakt"
http://www.ersterkontakt.eu/smf/viewtopic.php?f=6&p=13960#p13960
Uhoh - how could i forget to invite the Team Erster Kontakt - shame on me.
Count a beer on me at the next Meeting...
Great; I read this from "Keith" at http://www.setiusa.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13078 (reply to the message from aends invitation there; @Forum SUSA) -> cit. "I will attach a couple of boxes to this also."
This would be one more user from one more team to show, that Crunching is more than just a fight around cobblestones and stupid best places in time with more and more realy borring competitions. ;) (excusé mon mauvais anglais svp; tschuldigung für das wirklich bescheidene englisch; excuse my absolutely poor english :D)
Quote from: aendgraendCount a beer on me at the next Meeting...
We'll remember :D
The ESL is interested. But I think there will not be so many people joining and the most will be part of the "ESL Brigade".
We still discuss about official things about that, I will post it if I get more information ;)
Sounds good , the more the better :)
Btw anyone working on a post on the POEM Team invite Forum ?

Yes, nice to see ESL there as well!
sdw and me are currently working on a POEM forum invitation.
:hello: Is that what one could post at BOINC heidelberg? :sol:
Obviously it has been decided not to post anything on the POEM website.
Quote from: SG-Digi421Obviously it has been decided not to post anything on the POEM website.
Could you please explain this a litte bit further? Who has decided this and why? :??:
I find this a bit odd to say the least... :(
Regards
Alex
Mhh ... strange.
Isn't it POEM who gets the benefit ? So they should be interested in this project ^^
As Boincstats shows in the "Team member movements" for "Charity Team", User(s) from following Teams so far attached:
- ok.... Seti.Germany and L'Alliance Francophone ^^
- Canal@Boinc
- SwissTeam.Net
- Rechenkraft.net
- The Knights Who Say Ni!
- Nordlichter
- BOINC Synergy
I'm anxious (right word? don't know ;) ) about the next 10 days.
Yeah, and ESL, SETI.USA & more will follow... :hello:
And I think "anxious" has a negative meaning...better to say "I'm curious about..."
Thank you, LEO (http://dict.leo.org/). :D :jap:
or "I Wonder something" ;)
Quote from: Originor "I Wonder something" ;)
Hmmm... If it tells, that I can't await that the next 10 days find an end, so that the crunch starts...? *hibbl*
And.. erm.. Joey -> Leo told me: Engl: to be anxious to german: gespannt darauf sein zu
But thank you both for the recommendations :)

Well, now that the thread has been started, I had an itch to add a few comments. I hope you'll forgive me, Vainda. :jap:
How about some comments in French, Spain or any other language spoken here?
Alex
Quote from: 0Btw, do the project admins know this event is going to take place?
Yes they do. They were asked before, if the Server would be able to handle the additional load.
