To brighten up our days of confinement, here is the topic one spring flower a day.

Crocus
Symbolizing worry and fear in the language of flowers, the crocus is a bulbous perennial plant with cormus, much appreciated
for its ease of care and its flowering in spring or autumn bursts.
Its cup-shaped flared flowers open in March or October with 6 oval tepals 2 to 5 cm long that form the flared part.
They are sometimes lilac, white, yellow or mauve, variegated or in shades.

Muscari

Muscari (Muscari spp.) or grape hyacinth is a hardy ornamental plant native to Turkey and the Caucasus:
it can withstand extreme cold temperatures down to -25°C.
This perennial bulbous plant is characterized by bell-shaped blue flowers on bare stems, arranged in clusters
from which the common name is derived. Flowering occurs from March to May and has a slightly musky fragrance, hence the name muscari.

 :D Good Day and Hello,

It is very nice that our hobby gardener ousermaatree brings spring to our hearts a little. Well, we are not allowed to go out of the house at the moment, so let's take a look at spring in pictures.   :oki: Very good idea ouser.

Narcissus

The plant bears the name of a hunter from Greek mythology, completely imbued with his person.
Narcissus was so fond of admiring his own reflection in the water that he ended up drowning in it.
This is why narcissus always turn a little face down. Narcissus is also the national plant of Wales.
With double flowers, plain or spotted, with a large yellow trumpet (daffodil) or in small bunches of white flowers:
there are no less than 88 different varieties of narcissus, grouped into twelve categories.
All come from the wild narcissus, which has been growing since the dawn of time in the northern hemisphere.
The varieties we know at home have mainly spread from Spain and Portugal to northern Europe.

Magnolia

The meanings of the magnolia flower depend on its colour and the culture of the person giving or receiving it.
Magnolia flowers are most often given by men to women to say, "you are worthy of a beautiful magnolia".
A magnolia flower is often synonymous with Yin (the feminine side of life).
White magnolias symbolize purity and dignity.

Marigold

Marigold proposes to convey the following emotion: separation.
Whether it is deliberate or due to the hazards of life, the separation of body or mind calls for a painful affliction.
It can be a way of expressing that the disunion has been consummated.

Columbine

Columbine is chosen, in the language of flowers, when the person
who offers it is thrown into great sentimental or emotional turmoil; in return, relief or comfort is expected.

Rhododendron

Rhododendron, also called Azalea, symbolizes temperance, i.e. moderation, in the language of flowers.
Indeed, this beautiful plant is not without danger.
Rhododendron's reputation as a poisonous plant means that it is used to express danger.

Dandelion

The humble and banal Dandelion has a surprising amount of meaning:

The healing of an emotional or physical wound
Intelligence, especially in an emotional and spiritual sense
The warmth and power of the sunrise
Surviving all challenges and difficulties
Lasting happiness and rejuvenating joy
May your wish be granted
Since the Dandelion can thrive in difficult conditions, it is not surprising that the flower is said to symbolize the ability to rise above life's challenges.

Lilac

According to Greek mythology, the history of lilacs begins with a beautiful nymph named Syringa (the botanical name of the lilac).
Pan, the God of forests and fields, captivated by the beauty of Syringa, chased her through the forest.
Frightened by Pan's affections, Syringa escaped him by turning into an aromatic bush; the flower we now call lilac.

The flower of the eighth wedding anniversary and a symbol of the state of New Hampshire (symbolizing the resilient character of the citizens of that State), the lilac is often regarded
as a harbinger of spring, as the time of its bloom signals whether spring will be early or late.
In the language of flowers, purple lilacs symbolize the first emotions of love, while white lilacs represent youthful innocence.

My lilac is flowering a good month ahead of time. I've always seen lilacs flowering for (German) Mother's day (1st Sunday of May). In the past years, lilacs flowered in the second half of April and now early April - a sign that the seasons are changing...

Wood anemone

The wood anemone, Anemone nemorosa is a plant that inhabits the European deciduous forests, which it covers with its pretty spring flowers.
It takes a long time to establish itself, even in its natural environment, which is why Anemone nemorosa is considered by biologists to be a fairly old, mature forest indicator plant.
